Spicy Guacamole

Ingredients:

2 ripe avocados
1/2 red onion, chopped
1-2 Serrano chiles, insides and seeds removed, minced
2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash of black pepper

Directions:

Chile Peppers
  • Cut avocados, remove pits, and scoop into a mixing bowl.
  • Mash the avocados.
  • Add chopped red onion, Serrano chilies, cilantro, lime juice, salt and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  • Serve with tortilla chips.

Makes 5 servings.

Variations:
  • Add a chopped tomato before serving.
  • Throw in a few cloves of minced garlic.

Chile Peppers

Serrano peppers are hotter than jalapenos. If this guacamole is too spicy, start with half of a Serrano pepper or substitute a jalapeno.
